Dutch look to ban magic mushrooms
Sad news. I consider occasional mushroom trips an essential part of living, just like regular trips (traveling). They allow you to zoom out and evaluate your life from a completely different perspective. They’re fun, natural, and, from the many times I’ve done them, completely safe (especially compared to, say, alcohol). A city which allows them to be freely sold is a very cool city in my book. If they are banned in the Netherlands, I will have one less reason to visit, and the country will have one less reason to consider itself special, exceptional. And (I have to say it), the authorities will have a little more power and individual citizens will have a little less.
